Residents poured onto The Arcata Plaza Saturday for the first of two days of arts, crafts, food and fun at the North Country Fair.

About 190 vendors from throughout the Northwest displayed a variety of handmade goods, while residents could be seen dancing, juggling or just kicking back and enjoying the numerous types of cuisine.

At about 1 p.m., a parade of capoeira and samba performers danced through the crowd, stopping frequently to give the audience a show.

Vendors sold everything from clothing, jewelry, paintings and candles, to food and other homemade products.
